How It Works

BLOOD FLOW

Acupuncture increases blood flow and circulation to the ovaries, uterus and uterine lining. Improved blood circulation provides a better environment for the development and implantation of an embryo.

HORMONE REGULATION

MRI reveals that acupuncture prompts observable changes in the brain, the center of your hormone system. Acupuncture helps regulate hormones such as FSH, LH, and cortisol.

INFLAMMATION

Acupuncture reduces inflammation and increases uterine lining receptivity, while also regulating the body's immune and stress response.

Begin Your Fertility Journey

Initial Consultation- What To Expect

I specialise in providing acupuncture to support couples facing fertility challenges, whether trying to conceive naturally, through IVF or dealing with issues like miscarriages or hormonal imbalances like PCOS. With 13 years of experience, I've helped hundreds of couples through similar challenges. My clinic is now based in Northallerton, after recently relocating to North Yorkshire.

Your initial appointment will involve a thorough fertility history review, so please bring any relevant test results. I'll also conduct a detailed health consultation and may suggest dietary changes, supplements, and lifestyle adjustments. Afterwards, I'll discuss a personalised treatment plan and provide a welcome acupuncture treatment. This session can last up to 90 minutes.

  • PCOS is one of the most common causes of female infertility.

Women with PCOS, particularly those with irregular or infrequent periods, have their own particular challenges when it comes to conceiving. Acupuncture protocols may help to reduce some of the factors that operate with polycystic ovaries.

For example, Acupuncture may help reduce testosterone and LH levels and help to promote more frequent ovulation and better quality eggs. Acupuncture may also help to decrease insulin resistance and reduce sympathetic nervous system activity, both of which are often high in PCOS. Working at all these levels, Acupuncture can help to improve ovarian function and increase ovulation frequency restoring more regular menstrual cycles. 1

  • Studies suggest that Acupuncture can improve female fertility by enhancing blood flow in the uterine artery. This helps create a better environment for follicle development and increases blood flow to the uterus, which can improve the thickness of the endometrial lining and boost the chances of embryo implantation.

Eggs need good blood flow, nutrients, hormone signals, and energy for healthy development. While you can't change DNA or turn back time, Acupuncture may help improve egg quality by enhancing nutrition delivery and energy production. Acupuncture can boost blood vessel growth and flow to the ovaries, especially during crucial egg development stages.

  • I use research-based Acupuncture protocols to support you through fertility treatment, including sessions before and during IVF, pre/post embryo transfer, and the two-week wait, tailored to your unique situation.

  • I’ve helped many people through miscarriage, which can bring up strong emotions, especially if you’ve been trying for a baby for a long time or have had a miscarriage before. Getting pregnant again after a miscarriage can be very emotionally challenging, and I provide a lot of support for you. The fertility Consultations cover various factors that can affect miscarriage, like egg quality, immune and microbiome issues, and male factors.
